Partners in life and art, Jason de Haan and Miruna Dragan met in 2008 during the Cosmic Ray Research residency at the Banff Centre and have since lived and worked together in Canada, Mexico, Romania, Lebanon, and Greece, producing a number of projects individually and in collaboration. The artists will discuss the afterlives of things, the powers of synchronicity, and the legacies of deep time.
The conversation is moderated by Dr. David L. Clark, Professor in the Department of English and Cultural Studies at McMaster University, where he is also an Associate Member of the Department of Health, Aging and Society. In 2025/26 he was Dr. Terrence Hoffman Humanities Professor-in-Residence. Clark has published research on a wide range of subjects, from Continental Philosophy to British Romanticism, and from the engravings of Francisco Goya to the paintings of William Blake. With his wife, Tracy Wynne, he is a longtime collector of contemporary Canadian art.
